Beginner into discus ...advise needed.
Hi, was thinking of starting keeping discus soon.
Can advise what's best tank set up for them? Eg tank size ,tank colour, depth, filtration ,heater ,diet etc.. Ever kept them before with Arowana but soon after they turn dark or black spots appear , maybe something to do with water . Experts can give some advise here for minimum guide on discus keeping? Thanks in advance. Simon |

!st day, norm dun feed, get deworm kit. Deworm them 1st. Some will particular with PH, DC prefer acidic water, BUt SG is alkaline, So either u try to play with PH or let them get use to alkaine water |

Dun advise to mix with large fish, they will stress, I suggest u buy some cheap DC to learn how to keep them 1st. Some good DC can cost few hundred. So dun dump so much $ to get exp DC.

Boss,
Best to keep in bare tank with sponge filter and regular wc. Background go for light color. Tankmate: can put in pleco (might suck the slime off discus body) Tretra - take those big enough such that discus cant hunt them. Best to Keep a school of discus instead of individual few. |
