It was a great loss indeed. 18 years is a substantial amount of time. I could not feel for you as I have not kept any fish for that long period of time, the most is only 5 years at the moment but I am sure I would be devastated if it happens to me. Anyway, from the photo it looks quite old already ya. Does this show that farm bred aros do not have that long of a lifespan? Pardon my ignorance as i do not keep aro and did not read up much on them in this aspect.
