Default Ph from tap water

I found out that my aro is having a rot tail. Tested the ph level is 5.0. I did a water chNge every two day. Seen no improvement on the ph level. Then I found out that my tap water ph is only 5.5. Any bro have the same experience? Anything that is able to bring up the ph level?

Coral chip/oyster shell/baking soda. Use sparingly. I'm assuming you have already concluded that the cause of the tail rot is the low pH?

Have up calibrate your ph meter? I think the ph spec. of our incoming tap water should be between 6 to 9 if i'm not wrong.

Might have a bigger issue if your tap water is so acidic. May want to get that checked.

PH 5 to 5.5 there will be minimum bacteria growth. Therefore it will not cause fin rot.
