actually no medication is really require, good water management is the secret weapon.my ph is alway around 7.5,so far worse condition is 6.5 when i switch from mp to fillet.now the filter media seem to be coping well ,even with fillet feeding 100%,the ph still able to goes back to 7.5.very stable i must say

this is the more stable one with my tiger rays - was doin very well and feeding a lot with sw, so i decided its time to train her & the tiger rays on mp ... unfortunately she juz stopped feeding on 2nd day onwards. was goin to revert back to sw, but too late i guess ...

pH was maintained at 7.1 all along, she did not get thin even .... water parameter was tip-top .... what could have been the cause??

If torsats left uneaten they tend to bite on the disc of the ray this is what happened to mine.

By the way any bros keep their ray in pH more than 8? Yesterday when I went to measure my water pH even the aged water with driftwood stands at 8.2 Confirm test kit no problem cos yesterday I bought fish and the reading for that water showed 7. Now I'm contemplating whether to decrease the pH. The rays are eating alot and are very healthy chasing feeders.

Should I just follow the cliche if it ain't broken don't fix it?

if the rays are eating well, then leave it to naturally go down by itself. this way will be safer and prevent pH shock if u were to reduce the pH ....

Bro Lyh,
High PH...is usually due to much coral chips or sand used are marine sand.
Ph will sometimes fluctuate if your KH is not optimal.
You can either get ur Kh tested or just measure ur ph mid-noon and then measure again at night. 0.5 ph difference is ok(doesn't mean gd) but if more ,action need to be taken at once.
Further info seek help at http://arofanatics.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=4

My tank used to be high 8pH (6 ft tank) with 3kg of coral chips.
Now my ph is lower once i removed half of it.

I didnt know torsat are a pain. Usually,in my tank...the surviving torsats are in my sump to clear mosquito larvaes.

Also must depend on bio load / feeds. CC will help maintain PH at 8.
If you want lower ph....then may have to remove accordingly.
