i love what's inside. maybe can pass me some of the slime when you open it up to maintain.

From the pic, the input to the denitrator is from the top but I couldn't locate the output of the unit.

Hi atom, I am using a dymax denitrator.Follow your instruction before was not working well but this time after adding deniball without water outlet flow for the first day. Tested the water the next day the reading 0 mg. Next day the drip 1 drop per 60 second reading from the outlet flow still 0 mg. So increase 1 drop per 30 second reading from the outlet flow 10 mg. Should I increase the drop faster or stay it is way for the moment. But my main tank reading is still high reading 50 mg. how long were I had to wait for my main tank nitrate to drop.My ph is quite stable 7.0.Very much appreciated if you could help me how to improve my denitrator.Tks

The problem of not using ORP controller is to test n test. No 2 tanks are alike.

IMO, you should let the flowrate maintain at 1 drop per second (since you can get 0) for at around 1 week for the anaerobe to build up sufficiently before increasing to 1 drop per 30 sec. It takes time.

The problem with dymax is small in size. If you tank is 522 n above, I doubt the 1 x dymax can handle the load.

Tks atom will continue to monitor the reading everyday. My tank is only 3x2x2.Regarding the ORP controller will it work well with my dymax. And how much does the ORP controller cost and any other equipment needed to work with it. tks

I think Dymax cannot accept probe and so no controller. As for your case, you just need to monitor and adjust accordingly. Make sure you aerate strongly and if possible, install an UVC with slow flowrate.

I am running UVC 24/7 as for the aerate should I do in the sump tank or the main tank or both. tks

Aerate the area where the output from the denitrator is dripping to. If possible, use a small tub stuff with wool to filter it. Finally, make sure the flowrate for the UVC is slow. Normal flowrate is meant for zapping free floating algae only. Slow flowrate is meant for zapping pathogen.

Try my very best to follow your instruction. Is a bit problem to use a small tub stuff with wool to filter it will try to solve it. As for the slow flowrate of the UVC how slow is slow ? Do not understanding zapping pathogen what does it mean very sorry hope to learn more from you.Gd night will continue to read 2morrow morning bye.
