When I first read the update on FB, it's southbound from Bishan to Marina.

Then it became Ang Mo Kio to Marina... and BOTH ways.

Maybe because of the recent increase in taxi fares they use the MRT breakdown excuse to get more people to use the taxis.

Seriously, the lifeline for most Singaporeans to travel is the MRT's without which they will suffer. These frequent breakdowns and inconveniences are inexcusable. SMRT is too profit-driven and not paying much attention to the needs of the population. They profit from rentals, ads, buses and taxis forgetting that parts replacement and maintenance are very important.

If LKY had allow SIA to also operate the airport terminals I am sure SIA will fail. SMRT should only focus on operating the trains and ensure it's smooth operation as it is the life blood of the nation.
