Pretty under rated and not so “famous” species from the family of Pimelodidae - known as "shovel noses".

It is pretty suited to be kept in most home aquarium unlike some other shovelnoses include the Tiger Shovelnoses, false zebra cat (Brachyplatystoma juruense) or red tailed cat that may get too large for standard home aquarium.

The common name can be pretty funny : Duck-beak Catfish, Hockey Stick Catfish, Lima Shovelnose.

One interesting thig abt this cat is the Lima shovel nose hides in a head down position next to the roots of large trees. It waits in this manner for unsuspecting prey to wonder by.

Certainly a non tankbuster cat for most people.
another nice sp shared by Bro Amiidae...

behavior and characteristics similar to TSNs? ... at this size, their growth rate should be much slower than the other shovelnoses...

any tankmates for them now? ... how do u manage to acquire so many nice sp all the time ... so many tanks ar?
