COMPETITION RULES & REGULATIONS

1. This competition is open to hobbyists and people in the flowerhorn trade. Entries must be submitted in the fish owner’s personal name and not trade/shop name.

2. Participants are taking part in this competition strictly at their own risk. While the Organizer and its agents will put in their best effort to safeguard the welfare of the fishes during the competition period, they cannot be held responsible for any loss, injury, harm, damage, sickness and/or mortality to the participating fishes.

3. All entries will be judged in accordance with the Organizer’s set of Judging Criteria. The judges’ decisions are final and no disputes/correspondence will be entertained before, during or after the competition.

4. Participants are not allowed to enter the competition arena during the bench-in and judging sessions.

5. Participants must ensure that their fishes are of the correct size as entered for each class during bench-in. 2 demerit points will be deducted from the total score if the fish is found to be of the wrong size. This penalty is to prevent participants from entering class C fishes into Class A and B in order to get bigger tanks for their fishes.

6. After the fishes have been benched in, participants can only use mirror or fish toy to condition/stabilize their fishes. All these items are to be placed outside the tanks and must be removed before the judging session.

7. No feeding is allowed during the competition period. Participants are also not allowed to tamper with the water condition by adding any conditioners/additives into the tanks.

8. All entries must be brought to the competition venue within the stipulated bench-in time. Late submission after the bench-in time will not be accepted and no refund will be given.

9. Once the fishes are accepted and displayed at the competition venue, participants are not allowed to remove the fishes from the tanks unless prior approval has been obtained from the Organizer.

10. All participants are to bench out their fishes during the stipulated bench-out date and time. Any fishes that are not collected by the close of the competition shall become the property of the Organizer.

11. In the event of entries exceeding the number of tanks available, the Organizer reserves the right to process the applications on a first-come-first-served basis. The Organizer also reserves the right to increase or reduce the number of entries based on the number of applications received. Successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified before the competition commences.

12. Should the competition be postponed, shortened or extended due to circumstances beyond the Organizer’s control, the Organizer and its agents shall not be held responsible for any loss, directly or indirectly, sustained by the participants and sponsors.

13. The Organizer reserves the right to change the rules & regulations at any time without prior notice.
