Your water will suffer the wood leak stain for quite sometime, and if they were using treated wood, the leak stuff can be fatal for your fish!
I think you definitely need a cover from the side and top. Condo estate will do fogging regularly, and not sure how you are going to manage that!  |

Mine wood covers is still staining after more than 3 yrs. Lucky they r external and do not affect my system.
