On a normal conditioning slightly brownish will do. What's more important is having good water conditioner with combination of additives such as vitamin complex and good aquarium salt. How you age your water is also important.

I'm using petfran ultimate coat for water conditioner, ocean free aquarium salt mix with aquarium coarse salt and also ocean free natural miracle leaf.
