Heard that the reason why ppl leave the last compartments empty without any media is because the more thing you put inside there then the less water you have at the last compartment.
It will cause the water evaporation more faster; and doesn't have sufficient water to cool down the power head.
So mayb this is also one of the cause make the pump dead earlier?
But don't know it is true or not.
