Doping is one thing, trimming fishes is another. You can prove that the guy is doped by testing urine samples etc but how do you prove that the fish is cut? Ask the fish? The fact that it is impossible to prove means that it's harder to catch the hairdressers and even easier to mislead newbies.

Getting caught or not, one thing is similar between doping and trimming. They all have lost the respect of all fellow sportsmen and hobbyists and personally, I think respect of your fellow hobbyists is harder to earn than sales and harder to achieve than trophies. Thus, I do not know why you say you will respect a hobbyist that can escape being caught trimming fishes but it goes to show that I and you have a huge gulf in our viewpoints.
