Mo recently just purchased a Rio Hyperflow 14HF.

Measured by eyes based on tank height my tank set with sump is about 5 ft high @_@. So it should be about 1.5 metres. The specs on Rio pump box indicated a headloss at different height of the tank at 1.8m, the flow rate of that pump is around 2050L/Hr. If I'm not wrong the flow rate for this model should be around 3000++ L/Hr? Maybe some bros here can enlightened me.

So far I have an eheim flexible hose at half a metre long connected to piping at sump there in a swirled U or S shape. And it bend out to the cabinet and bent up again to the main tank slanting around 60 degrees up.

The water flow is still quite strong. I wonder how bro Humongous measures the flow rate of each pump reaching certain height?

Néed to be enlightened to master this skill

I did not measure the flowrate, bur observe from the level water present in the OHF base plate.... so see how it fare at different height where the pump being placed.
