because there are tiny coral chip stones, hard Superworm shells, mp shells or squid bone leftovers inside the tank and you might accidentally scratch the glass/fiber walls while wiping.

I always stump the mop a few times inside the tank to clear away hard objects then as I mop, I will push away the debris instead of absorbing into the mop.
Takes a bit of practice.
my rays, arowana are used to it already.
