Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that Anthony Martial did not want to play in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Aston Villa as he seeks a January transfer.
The Red Devils were missing several attackers for the trip to Villa Park, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcus Rashford both carrying injuries, yet Martial – who is fit for selection – was not named in the matchday squad, with United only able to name eight substitutes.
Asked about his lack of subs, and if Martial was the reason, Rangnick explained: ‘Yes, he didn’t want to be in the squad.
‘He would have been in the squad normally but he didn’t want to, and that’s the reason why he was not travelling with us yesterday.’

Wished there are clauses in the contract that punishes such errant act of defiant. Blame it on the Glazers for protecting Martial all along esp during Jose's time when he blocked the sales
