If your tank have algae growth it would be good, if not then any green leaves will do i.e spinach or lettuce ( slight dip in hot water before feeding ).

144s actually can use a bigger cave. Their eggs are sticky and wont get kicked out unlike the other plecos.

So for me i would prefer to use a slightly bigger cave for 144s. :)
