Is your tank covered? the sump compartments can be covered too, to reduce evaporation...

this was a tip shared by some lfs owners... pH can remain at slightly above 7.... add KH powder to our water (~pH6+).... :)

a question on the "sludge" or brown stuff that settles at the bottom of our sump compartments.... understand that these are by-products of the complete nitrification cycle....
