If your filter is clean and everything looks ok, just power off and on the filter a few times. The noise normally goes away after 2 or 3 times for me.

My raw tap pH readings had gone from 7.8 to 6.5. Seeing as how an acidic pH means that the buffering is also almost gone, I'm not surprised that it only takes abit of additives and filtering to drop...
