gutted ones r usually less fresh. fishmongers usually cut the leftovers to prevent decomposition from the organs as thats usually the source of it.

Finally finished modifying the cover. Took me a couple of nites to change the screws, cut an retrofit the frame, change hinges, and clean it up for cny!

Added some garden pebbles...
