4-5 gf even at 3 inch may be too much for 1.8ft, even if you dont want them to grow. 3-4 gf may be better

Got this beginning of year at QH. This female fish was greedy and grew, not the other 2 from same batch. But my guess is this may not grow any much more

I think the usual tank filter system for serious gf keepers would be stacked OHF.
I am thinking of changing out of this into just sponge filters alone. Any experience, how does water quality change...
