You can try stripping the female to be sure before putting her back into the main tank. You can just google for videos to learn how to strip a female mbuna.

From my experience, it will take 2 weeks for the frys to be fully formed in the mother's mouth. I would wait for at least 1.5weeks before removing the mum. A new mum might not even hold the full term...
