hey bro, just abit of input of my own experience. for discus, i always do at least 100% waterchange everyday, with up to 200% on juveniles when i am growing them out. this maintains top water quality...

my method of cure would be to remove all filter media or filtration of any form, do a 50% water change and add *japanese* yellow powder. change 50% water 3 days later.

a heater would also help.
