Haha, probably an understatement. We need an overhaul instead.
All those hypes when we beat Spurs and City just went down the gutters and OGS "optimism" that we have most of the players we needed to rebuild now seems a long long way if we showed such inconsistency in form.
Also he does not seems to have the guts to change when in the first half, we were simply abysmal. And when he does make the changes. many would have questioned his choice of players to be taken out.
If we had lost, but the team showed spirit and guts to fight, I believe supporters would have applauded the lads for trying. But certainly today was not the day

lenghan 23-12-2019 10:50 AM

When we listened to Ole's post match interview, he just reaffirmed that he was simply not up to the task. If he knew during the first half, all players were lack-lustre, why no changes to formation or players??
Why only start to panic when we were 2-0 down?
He is simply not ruthless enough to bench DDG who had been on the decline for almost 1 year.
We also see why Man City did not pursue Mcguire. He is simply an average defender at best since he has been here (maybe one or two good performances). And whom now is the captain.
This defeat to Watford should be an eye opener for Ole to stop being a Mr. Nice plus Woody to actually be serious that we need fresh players to beef up this team.
If you want to rebuild, start using more youngsters. Yes we will lose games, but in the long haul, we are truly in the process of rebuilding. It is really time to stop playing Lingard in starting eleven. Luke Shaw is now out of his depth.
VL had lately been very careless and reckless.
The list goes on.........

sfk7 23-12-2019 02:59 PM

It is not as simple as that i feel. Players are overpaid. How are you going to motivate them? Remember Mourinho once said that if the players need him to motivate them then there is something very wrong with the players. It is the culture now

OR...

From internet: While not every win – or defeat – can be boiled down to managerial input, this was a direct result of Frank Lampard’s coaching. Chelsea identified an opportunity, worked on a new shape and plan and executed it to absolute perfection.

This is what is glaringly missing from man utd these few years. Either the players were not told or the players are not doing what they were told. I lean towards the latter

lukeber 23-12-2019 04:07 PM

Need the players to have consistency. It is the same manager and team that drew with Liverpool, beaten Man City and Spurs.

loveikan 23-12-2019 10:06 PM

After 18 games.
We have the 5 best games namely against Arsenal, Spurs, L'Pool, Chelsea and Man. C.

The rest of the 13 games against the other teams - mediocre to poor.

KeeHuat 27-12-2019 01:56 AM

Manchester United XI: de Gea, Wan Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, McTominay, Andreas Pereira, Fred, Greenwood, Rashford, Martial.

Subs: Jones, Pogba, Mata, Lingard, Young, James, Romero

Liang_Zai 27-12-2019 02:47 AM

Our def is simply shit n maguire looks amatuer

lenghan 27-12-2019 02:50 AM

RUBBISH defense!!!

Liang_Zai 27-12-2019 02:53 AM

Before they are sub out hro shortly after the 4th goal

KeeHuat 27-12-2019 04:26 AM

Still work to do but better performance today. Well taken goals.

Playing 4-2-3-1 and having possession against teams that sit back waiting for breakaways, both holding midfielders in this case Fred and McTominay cannot both go up but 1 has to stay back in case the ball is lost. In the first half, balls were lost in midfield, and Fred and McTominay were too far up and Newcastle had chances.

lenghan 27-12-2019 04:35 AM

Next match on Sunday away to Burnley

loveikan 27-12-2019 11:25 AM

Good partnership of the front trio.
Hope to see them playing more to continue understanding each other better so that they can more lethal.

Btw a rare goal from a header from Rashford and an even rarer cross fom Bisaka.

The only worry I have is OGS game plan, that is, substitutions.
Were both Martial and Rashford injured? When taken off, they headed back through the tunnel instead of taking their regular seats on the bench. No reports on this except that Mctominay had injured his knee ligament.
Yes, we were already leading 4-1, but when both AM and MR taken off to be replaced with JL and JM, almost no more shots on target with the exception of PP trying more efforts.

It's probably to rest Rashford and Martial, same for James not in the match day squad at all, for the next match. Already leading, so put some of the reserves in. The players cannot play all the matches in the Christmas/New Year period. Burnley match is just 2 days away.

Shadow7 27-12-2019 02:32 PM

Yes we have to rest them for the next 2 matches and I think maybe both of them went straight down the tunnel for special recovery process

lenghan 28-12-2019 07:09 PM

Injury updates:

Scotts McTonimay - Awaiting result of scan on knee ligament. No updates when he could return
Axel Tuanzebe - Apparently fit for match against Burnley if OGS decides to rest either HM or VL
Diogo Dalot - Fit again and may be included in Burnley's match.
Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Eric Bailly - Apparently fit again and both are training regularly at Carrington. No updates if they could be played tonight
Marcos Rojo - the player that knows how to get to the sick bay nearer the transfer window such that no teams keen to bid for him. Honestly lost count on the number of times he reported injured when transfer window is near

lenghan 28-12-2019 07:14 PM

Interesting statistics....
Last 5 games against Burnley....Drew both home games but won away for the 3 away games.
Another one more away victory awaits!!!

KeeHuat 28-12-2019 07:46 PM

Burnley's way of playing is obvious against all teams, they play with the big forwards and go for free kicks and corners.

KeeHuat 29-12-2019 04:03 AM

Manchester United XI: De Gea; Young, Lindelof, Maguire, Williams; Matic, Fred; James, Pereira, Rashford; Martial

Subs: Romero, Jones, Shaw, Wan-Bissaka, Lingard, Mata, Greenwood

lenghan 29-12-2019 05:06 AM

First 15mins of play we dominated but not a single attempt from open play except the 2 free kicks. Anyway Burnley is a very physical side and are committing numerous fouls

lenghan 29-12-2019 05:33 AM

AM put us 1-0 ahead in the 44th min

Liang_Zai 29-12-2019 05:36 AM

Young look very vulnerable om the ball. We need more creativity though and Pereira ia brazilian??no attacking sense 1ball rashford bring the ball forward yet Pereira was like strolling beside him if not could have create a open chance with a through pass

lenghan 29-12-2019 05:41 AM

Just hope OGS do not bring in Jones. Have absolutely no faith in this bloke anymore

lenghan 29-12-2019 06:16 AM

As long as we do not get the 2nd goal we will be very vulnerable which was shown by Bardsley
And looks like they are trying to kick DJ out of the game with repeated bad fouls

Liang_Zai 29-12-2019 06:31 AM

Lingard is contributing next to nothing

3 points from an away match against a team playing high balls from corners and free kicks. Finally a clean sheet.
