Much as we are blaming Mcguire poor defending, equal blame too to CR7 and Rashford for wasting so many chances.
With this form, how on earth can we battle for the top 4 position

Deja vu. 3rd match in a row, cannot score more than 1 goal and let in 1 in the second half.
This match, McTominay was ineffective once he received the yellow card in the 1st half. Pogba and Bruno can attack but cannot defend and the midfield was under pressure when Southampton attacked. Dalot has been crossing the ball over the left side for the past few matches. Why does he overhit the cross. Rashford is unfit, does track back and cover runs made by both full backs.

Weaknesses:
Maguire only can head, but always beaten for pace and turned by forwards.
Midfield cannot stop attacks and cannot play out when pressed.
Rashford cannot dribble past the full back.
Ronaldo is too old.
Cannot play both Pogba and Bruno together.

Signings required
Forward since probably Ronaldo and Cavani will be gone in the summer
Centre back who is fast and can defend and technically sound
Midfielder who can defend and play when in possession
Right back (maybe) who is an upgrade.

We need another forward now that it seems quite probable that Greenwood's career is down the drain with the alleged charges, plus Ronaldo and Cavani's stint is over in the summer. And Martial does not seems interested to come back.
Mcguire's head needs to be calibrated. Yes he can head but more often then not in the wrong direction or to nowhere.
Need to bring Donny back. Just look at the game now against Leeds where he holds a very commanding position in attack and defense.

I watched van de Beek whenever he has been given the chance to play and I do not think he is the solution to the midfield problem. A commanding midfielder is required, can defend and attack. A good player comes in and you can see the difference.
