May I know what is the plant on the front left side? How's the progress of your plants other than downoi is melting?
|
nice! very few people do Dutch style already. can't wait to see when it full matured. :)
BTW, just curious, why wify disallow marine tank yet approved planted tank? |

Currently both my downoi & alternanthera reineckii 'lilacina' are melting like crazy. Some other plants are growing green leaves. But my ludwigia senegalese & rotala wallichii are doing quite well. I'll try to span a picture on my progress later. Quote:

This is another shot of my 90% completion tank shot.
http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/...4D45308CE5.jpg Current flora are: Ammania sp. "Bonsai" Alternanthera reineckii "lilacina" Hydrophila polysperma "Rosanervig" Didiplis diandra (aka Blood Stargrass) Echinodorus vesuvius Ludwigia inclinata Ludwigia inclinata var. verticillata "Cuba" Ludwigia inclinata var. verticillata "Pantanal" Ludwigia glandulosa Ludwigia repens "Rubin" Ludwigia senegalensis Lobelia cardinalis "Dwarf" Limnophila aromatica Micrantherum umbrosum "monte carlo" Nesaea sp. "Red" Pogostemon helferi (aka Downoi) Rotala macrandra "Variegated" Rotala rotundifolia Rotala wallichii Syngonanthu sp. "Belem" (aka Tonina sp. "Belem") Trithuria sp "blood vomit" (Eriocaulon sp "Vomit Blood" / Tu Xie Gujing) Will be looking for some other plants to replace my melting downoi. And giving some trimming of Rotala Wallichii today just trimmed & replanted my ammania sp. "bonsai" too. By the way my tank "cycles" using using RO/DI water, ADA aquasoil S special, BW substrate system, Tropica substrate & Micro-Lift products. It only took 2 days but I waited till it is 4th day before I add those ruby & cardinal tetras. Whomever know where to get 30 pcs of ruby tetra please pm me thank you. (I wipe out GC & Y618's ruby tetra supply already):p |
Nice planted tank, colourful Dutch style. Can't wait to see it mature.
|
Thank you bro tco.
Since my last post I've added an other lightset the evo 3w led for my foreground. And have got 1 pot each of UG & A. reineckii mini from the 1-2 grow from Tropica. Here is a sneak peak from one of my favourite plant Ludwigia senegalensis from top view between the lightsets. http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/...A5DD02D1AA.jpg |
Just another update before I trim my "红太阳" & ludwigia inclinata.

My cardinals like to jump out of the tank every now & then therefore the lightset actually double as a tank cover also. Else my OC always kpkb say got so many ikan bilis all the time. Here is what my tank looks like about 3 weeks ago. http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/...23B4203143.jpg |
what is your tank size and how many sets of evo lights you have ?
I was thinking to get evo lights too but was advise to get T5 instead for my 322 tank as it has a wider spectrum of light to cover the whole tank |
Quote:
If you are talking about spread then min. 6x T5HO will still be better for a 2ft wide for "Dutch style" tank. But if you are going "natural" can just get x4 T5HO. I just dun like to see my electricity bills go up that's why sticking to LED. Looking to slowly change to better LED lights like Kessil, AI's Hydra or BML by next year or so. |
I am having a 3'x1.5'x1.5' tank, currently using EVO also. Should I get 2nd set of EVO or upgrade to better light fitting? I am also going for dutch planted tank.

Any budget constraints? Is it just 1)about the plants or 2)for better viewing or 3)aesthetic reason? These can be a big difference on the type of lights you are getting. PM me we can discuss about it easier. |
Hey Royston, beautiful results!
