TS , so this poster is your creation?

Pardon me to ask afew question?

How short is consider short tail?

Is paddle or flag tail the same?

The underbelly spotting if without , isit still consider a BD?

If clasper no spot , so it's not a BD?

Grey pups not a BD ? As it is not "very very dark"

Pardon me for asking these question with no offence as I am really hoping to clear my doubt .. Appriciate to hear your views.

Thanks in advance.

What u proposed if all ray keepers agree can be a set of competition guidelines for p13 . Go try breeding and see the variation u get within the same batch and across diff batches.

Thats assuming we using bd male and female that meet the above so called proposed criteria in the first place for breeding.

Nonetheless...spots on claspers is really something new..i believe the taiwanese will be laughing their heads off.

On the contrary , I am not against doing a poster for these top range p13 and term them Black Diamond.

Just that the message across should be they ( BD ) , should have these characteristic and NOT they (BD) must have all these characteristic .

And perhaps like what TS wish to know, certain more detail info on each point should come in the poster before confusing some.
Eg - black base when adulthood . Continuous double perimeter ring, optional underbelly spotting etc

Please read this as a topic as a discussion to " Brand" the term BD and not that I am against it.

The above just my personal views only.

Thank you.

Simon

If male bd claspers must have white spots than female abalone should have white spots too.. :D

Where is the TS??? You start a thread asking for BD identification than disappear ah??? If you have been breeding BD for a long time than you should know that by breeding the nicest BD together don't guarantee the whole batch of pups to be equally good as the parents..

So how you classify those that don't look as nice as the breeding pair???

Or you are not sure than asking for opinion to make a poster to promote your farm??? Fly by night or jump onto the wagon..

Btw did you study Mendel's laws since you are a breeder??? If yes.. too bad.. Mendel's laws only apply to pure blood..

I have never breed black diamonds. I just make a poster for a friend. I only ask your advice to make the poster better. I have read alot on the net. Thats my only source of information. If you do not agree with the poster please tell me what to change
