Get those egg crate to partition to prevent the hooks from stealing the eggs.

I have a spare tank running awaiting my new project. It is up, running and ready, can i transfer the pair and the eggs over instead ? To partition the 3ft width can be quite troublesome :o

Could try ro leave to the parent to look after the eggs and guard against possible intruders. Leave the a light on at night will be a big help to the parents.

Not easy to transfer the eggs and the parents, better transfer the rest of the comm fish,by tomorrow will be able to see if the spawn are successful.

Congrats bro John....hope to see some fries soon....

When leave them there,I am sure can hatch successfully
But the fries when starting to learn swimming, all will be eaten by tankmates, the parents don't think hv time to look after each and every fries

you can try to use hose to suck out the fries when hatch but before they start to learn seimming(wriggle stage)

but you hv to careful the angry parents, they will attack your hand & hose

Congrat

Congrats bro.... wonder if it will be similar to tilapias breeding style since both oso cichlids... tilapias will protect hatchlings in their mouth later
