one doctor at the clinic did recommend us to put her down but we were very upset with that recommendation. she was in pain but not alot as with pain killers... and in fact you would see her slowly making her way to sit near the dinner table every night. she enjoyed the last few weeks and we did also. we were mentally prepared that the day was near as her organs were failing already and the last weeks were very memorable.

am a strong believer in god and believe he will take his creation back home when the time is right.

Stay strong bro and enjoy the time u have left with her.

Thanks for all the advise.

Got a friend also a cat lover.
She told me she is very selfish. She would like her cats to be with her as long as possible. Putting down is not an option.

Yes...doing what Aro77 is doing now.... try to let her do what she like.
Going out and explore the world beyong my house gate (with supervision).

Joonpeng_lee.....stay strong

SabaDen92......since she still can move around, will let her be.
Yesterday there is a minor happiness, she lick on her own when given cat treat.
Still hope is not high....hoping for miracle.

Let her leave at her own time, since you've observed her trying to be with the family.

I'd a 14-year-old budgie who'd always been the high-and-mighty, touch-me-not, badly-spoiled character, boss of the house.

Her health dropped drastically one day, and I started covering her cage from the draft when I saw she's getting weaker. Towards her last moment, she got down to the bottom of the cage where I'd left a gap to observe her, and sat very closely to me for quite a while before she left.

Still treasure that moment today, few years already.

Putting down to sleep

Based on the condition of the cat u described... she's going to go. When u force feed her did u see poop? What's its colour? Same as when u push it in? If so... dun force feed her Liao. She'll still drink when u put water near where she can reach. After a week of non feeding the cat will be ready to go.

No need to fight over it. It's a natural process. What u need to do is get ready for her eventual departure. There r those funeral service providers... they can keep the memory of ur cat for 2-3 years for a small fee... thereafter people usually get them to splash ash to sea... time when they are finally ready to let go.

I guess not many pet owners bought insurance for their pets, such that when the pet is sick, medical fee can also affect if they get their pets treated or put down.

A quick search online for Pet Insurance... just a couple among other insurers..

At this stage, just hope she can be as painless as possible before she pass on. ...
One of my dog also passed away recently due liver cancer.

Your cat is fortunate to have a good owner like you and your wife.

She need to force feed with food and water now.
Need to put her inside cat litter then she do her stuff (No more auto mode)
Few days back, a single 8cm long poop. Look good to me.
But after that no more poop (maybe lack of food).
Urinate 1x or 2x per day.

No lah, as long she still inside the house. Will try our best.
Stock up quite a lot of cat recovery can food, cat treats, baby food for around 1 yr and baby milk liao.

The main reason I thinking of putting her to sleep is to reduce her suffering and pain.
Imagine a swollen tumour grown inside the mouth (near left side of throat).
Every swallow of food and drink is a painful process. :(
