We were saved by poor finishings.

Also player like Bissaka ran the risk of having a 2nd yellow to miss the final.

Fred trying to be too clever, lost the ball and Roma scored their second goal and lost the ball again later on. Telles and Williams were not good replacements for Wan-Bissaka and Shaw. Bailly a bit lost.

The problem with Telles, Williams and Bailly, they were playing far too many matches to gel with the team and were indeed rusty, esp Bailly.
They probably had this mental block that even if they performed well, they will not be chosen. It is indeed a pity
