THIS is MANCHESTER UNITED # 134 - Towards new challenges in 2018

It is Manchester United, Man Utd or simply UNITED

Keep the topics to Manchester United and our next opponents...or anything newsworthy related to football.

We will focus on positive support for our club and refrain from negative remarks on our rivals.

Name calling, taunting on other teams are frowned upon.

Likewise, those with hidden agenda and/or ill intent and/or feel the need to goad and/or feel the need to stir shxt are not welcome here.

Without the heroics of DDG we should have been at least 2 goals down.
Our passing throughout the first half at best was tentative and with AH's hamstring injury, we have lost our shape totally (not that there was one)

A very poor performance for the 1st half.

Lukaku again cannot control the ball properly and instead of bullying defenders, he was being bullied:(

53mins and we have conceded 12 corner kicks. We have been second best so far in all departments (except goal keeper)
Since his introduction PP had been very poor

Altho we managed to hold them to a 0-0 draw, we were really poor. managing only 6 shots against 26. If PP continues with his "disinterested" style, would not be surprised if he is going to benched again and it is not JM's fault!!
Without DDG we would be certainly at least 2 goals down cos he made two world class saves to keep us in the game

0-0 in this leg. Let's see what happens in the 2nd leg.

Smalling lost his man and the guy could have scored but for De Gea.

Pogba doesn't want to defend throughout the match, he's running at half pace, not chasing after the opponent, and not putting in a tackle. He was even talking to the Muriel guy he was marking twice before the corners were taken. Should be concentrating and not chit-chatting. McTominay was better than him.

Appalled at the team selection as some of the players were not pacy enough to attack and defend against a quick Spanish team.
McTomminay was one of the better performer compared to the rest except dDG who once again saved us.

There is a problem with pogba attitude and it is not good for the team though. We are just so lucky to survive the first leg but I don't think it's an advantage because if Seville score first then we must double it

We tend to do better at Old Trafford the tie is not finished yet.

Manchester United have added Angel Gomes and Ethan Hamilton to their Champions League squad, following Wednesday's goalless draw with Sevilla.

The teenagers have been added to the Red Devils' 'B list', which includes players who were born on or after January 1, 1996, and have been eligible to play for their current club for two years since their 15th birthday.

Gomes, who is only 17 years old, made his Manchester United debut against Crystal Palace last season, becoming the youngest player to feature for the Red Devils in the club's history.

He also played a small part in United's 4-0 demolition of Yeovil Town in the FA Cup this year, in which Alexis Sanchez made his debut.

Hamilton, who is one year older than Gomes, turned out for the Red Devils for the very first time in their recent 2-0 cup win over Huddersfield.

Updated United Champions League squad (*B list)

Goalkeepers: David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Joel Pereira*, Kieran O'Hara*

Defenders: Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Chris Smalling, Daley Blind, Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia, Matteo Darmian

Midfielders: Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Michael Carrick, Ashley Young, Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay*, Ethan Hamilton*

Forwards: Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford*, Angel Gomes*
