Of cos the bigger the better la bro, however S'pore so small and majority stays in HDB or apartments so we have to make the best outta the resources we have.I remember abt 7 or 8 yrs ago there are many ppl that keep kois in their flate using FGTs....

I like kois too - i built a small outdoor pondwith intention to keep kois but later junked the idea and kept goldfishes instead when i found out that kois need a lot more space - and a min depth of 4ft to thrive

The above thread show a koi can grow to big size in a 3ft deep pond. So you still can rear koi in a shallow pond.

Thanks for yr support Teeboon! Can u be the Mod for the proposed Koi section??? We promise to behave.

Aqua-fanactic 10-12-2008 11:07 AM

Here is the picture of my previous koi. Kept in 6 ton water. 13ftx5ftx5ft FGT outdoor. Already feel the limit with a low stock.... Miss them at times and also remember those days of bringing koi to competition....preparing for benching on the night before.....following the judges and see their decision....wait to see our koi going into the winning tank....sometimes see koi up the lorry:(.....those were the days.....

If that's what you all want, also depends if the forum is approved or not lah. There are also other members who are more qualified. Interesting to learn about new things. Next time I go dig a pond in Indo.

From the list of members interested, it sure looks like an all star cast. :D
