We have received a couple of queries as to the higher entry fees this year for ASRS 2014, and non members' entry fees being higher than RAS members' entry fees.
For participants who are not aware, the expenses for last year's 2013 ASRS was far below the entry fees received. The entry fees did not even cover the airfare for the 3 judges. Very few are prepared to organise competitions with foreign judges as they are aware that the costs of holding such are substantial, including accommodation, trophies and other non minor expenses. We expect this year's expenses to far exceed the entry fees again. RAS members are effectively paying more to hold ASRS. RAS has been organising ASRS to promote Ranchu hobby in Singapore. |
