Chong and AG, I would prefer to keep AG.
As for our form, it coincides with the return of AM. Hopefully today we can do something about moving up the table again |
Manchester United XI: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Young, McTominay, Fred, Pereira, James, Martial, Rashford.
Subs: Romero, Mata, Lingard, Rojo, Greenwood, Garner, Williams. |
Poor goal to concede towards HT
|
Before that goal mc tominay should be given a foul yet become we concede a foul
|
We have ourselves to blame for poor finishing and conceding a poorly defended goal (from Lindelof n Bisaka)
|
Take andrea out n put mata in liao. Andrea is playing like shit today

The way we are playing, lots of possession but passing from left to right, to back, to right to left but hardly any penetrative movements.
Opposition happy to let us have the ball as long as there is no threat |
Really speechless after consecutive 3away win now back to square. Ole should know when to sub ppl in. Bissaka is a very good defender but his attacking sense is near to zero though. Andrea i think given enough chance to shine yet keep disappoint
|
Andreas cannot make a decent cross, or fr a freekick and cannot provide a proper corner kick at all.
|
Back to reality...we are just not good enough this season
|
Really disappointing performance after a good start.
Lindelof doesn't give me confidence in his defending, slight better than Jones. Pereira is not first team material and can't improve anymore, keeps on getting knocked off the ball. Lingard is a squad player, not first eleven. Young is too old. |

All those talk that are starting to "turn things over" is but an illusion, especially for OGS. Three away wins in a week (yes it was a good feeling) and OGS feels we have the answer for some positions. Is he just trying to motivate the players or a case of false sense of hope
|
We truly need some experienced players, starting with a creative midfielder and a forward.
Main problem is may not get them in during the Jan 2020 transfer window |
We are certainly in the ranks of "mid-table" team at most. There is no consistency at all. At times the lads are seen playing good football, but more often then not, lack-lustre with no creativity.
Whenever MR or AM plays ok in one game, OGS seems over the moon and gets very carried away...but alas the next game....MIA!!!! No consistency at all. We lack a captain that can "bark" orders. And we have a captain that has certainly "over-stayed" He is the reason why the game truly slows down (winning or losing position) cos his habit of back passing is classic. The front 3 are already running into positions, and instead of pushing the ball forward, he brings the ball to the half-way line and then BACKWARDS and the whole attack momentum collapse. This season (plus towards the 2nd half of last season), it had been a torture watching our team |
Need a midfield general. A strong leader who do the command and control.
Someone who can lead in attack and retreat when need to defend. He must read the game and gel the tempo in the team. More than often we see attacking at the front but not supported. Either no communication or simply slow down by aged players. Best form of defend is attack. You score 1 and we score 2. We are lacking this at the moment. |
After watching the Everton vs Spurs match, I am more convinced that the VAR is too inconsistent. The English FA should really sit down and look at the flaws now that more players are taking advantage by diving, trying to win penalties. Or how did Everton not awarded a clear cut penalty when Ali had his hands raised (remember we were awarded?)
But the saddest moment in tonight's game is the horrific injury to Gomez though in truth Son should not be red carded (but doubt Son could have gone through the match after seeing the injury, he was totally devastated) The momentum of his tackle caused Gomez to trip (yellow card for sure) and Gomez crashed into Aurier which probably resulted in broken leg (most likely) for Gomez. Even Aurier could not concentrate thereafter and had to be sub. Wishing Gomez a speedy recovery Latest report, was broken ankle which could probably end his career. Indeed very sad But credit to Everton players. They were seen consoling rather then confronting Son. |
The reasons for the lost game
- 3 games in 1 week, some of the players played entirely for the last three games and were noticbly tired for this yet we do not have adequate players from the bench to replace them to start this game. SM, Fred, Bissaka all looked very tired. - Our creativity is next to zero, forwards were starved of quality through passes - Nobody from the bench came on to make a difference as we lack quality on the bench - We still put in Young, why is he still picked when we have Brendan Williams ready???? He looked lost for most of the game and was at fault for letting the cross came in from the left for the goal. |
Good news that Gomez had a successful surgery for the ankle injury. Out for this whole season but full recovery is expected.
|
Apparently PP had a broken bone in his right ankle since Sept n ecpected to be sidelined for another 4 or 5 weeks

nice goals
but should have put in more now back to EPL |

Greenwood also linked quite well with the other forwards. McTominay put up another good performance |
Quote:
Their playing style is formless, just like United. We are lucky our strikers are better in terms of finishing, bar Rashford who should at least put 3 away instead of the one he put in. |

I felt it was a training for the 3 forwards, can assess and further improve their understanding of each other. |

Looking at the current league table is pretty gloomy if we lose tonight. Defeat will mean we could possibly remain at 15th position. Week in, week out we will continue to be in the danger of relegation zone unless we are able to grind out successive victories since the positions from 8th position to 15th are just one victory separating.
|
Man Utd: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Williams; McTominay, Fred; James, Andreas, Rashford; Martial.
Subs: Romero, Jones, Rojo, Mata, Lingard, Garner, Greenwood. |
What a poor game and martial machiam non existence. We need to buck up
|
We should have been more clinical n trash brighton and improve our goal difference.nevertheless 3points in the bag
|
Rashford needs to improve his conversion rate. He misses too many chances. Our defence with high balls is a worry. But at least we got 3 points today.
|
I like the way they "woke up" when Brighton pulled a goal back. The way we hit back with the quick goal was great and yes, MR should have put us in a much more comfortable position had he not missed a sitter.
But at least in the 2nd half, we see some fighting spirit in our lads. Hope SM is not too seriously injured towards the end of the game |
We had a good game.
Was particular impressed with the midfield control compared to we started in earlier games. Have to improve on our finishing in goals. Lost too many valuables goal difference. B.Williams can take over the old Young anytime. |

Really think the FA should relook VAR.
So many controversies. Seems to favour "certain" teams from losing teams perspective. Haha..just like when certain referee officiates game, we already know which team would get the worst deal when critical decisions had to be made |
Williams can take over the left back spot if he continues to perform the way he has been playing so far. He has the Roy Keane "take no prisoners" attitude and also can't be bullied even though he is young.
The 3 forwards James, Martial and Rashford played well but the finishing to put the ball in the net should improve. Fred is improving. Brighton's keeper played well. I don't think I saw Lindelöf head the ball at all. Defence needs to improve in clearing high balls into the box. Only defender that is constantly heading the ball is Maguire. We will probably need to get a better centreback to partner Maguire. maybe Tuanzebe or another young player |
Yes. The FA should relook into the VAR.
MCstarted very well until pools scored in the 6min. Before this goal, there was a hand ball at the other end which the MC players protested. |
Quote:
The VAR rule states very clearly that if the ball is LAST handled by the opposition and thereafter leads to a goal, the goal is NOT COUNTED. We can see very clearly that the ref (supposed to be the best in the League) did not understand this rule. If the first goal did not go Liverpool's way, the game could have been different if penalty was given. The irony is that Klopp would say that TAA was too close to avoid the ball, thus agreeing that the ball did last touched the attacking team that led to goal. Either way, the game should have either restarted or penalty awarded. The fact that VAR only argued that TAA touched the ball cos he was in close proximity, that means Oliver is hopelessly wrong. MC can only view this as yet another decisive decision for Liverpool, but NOTHING can be done now Anyway, had never liked Oliver to officiate our matches |
