Luke Shaw was once considered one of the promising left back.
That was before he broke his leg.
Now he is often on casualty list.
I wonder can he still able to provide support in the long term.
As for Williams, not seen him play yet.
A good investment for rebuilding is seen good.

LUKE SHAW

First-choice left-back Shaw has been out of action since the third game of the season after suffering a hamstring injury

He flew to Dubai last Tuesday to add some warm weather training to his rehabilitation.

The issue I have with OGS is that whilst he is always preaching about giving the youngsters their game time, he had rarely done so, and only when injuries plagued the "older" players.
These youngsters need game time to improve, not when the chips are down and let them try to salvage the game. That is certainly asking way too much.
Just compare Frank Lampard at Chelsea. Had Sarri still been the coach, we would not have seen Abraham or Mount or Hudson Odoi having so much game time.
OGS should learn from Lampard to trust the youngsters and since we have been always saying the team is in a "rebuilding stage", why not?

Lampard gambled his 1st match and lost badly against us 4nil.
He is lucky mount ,abraham and pulisic repaid him with great results at later matches.
Well not saying our new lads are no good but maybe he felt not ready to take up the responsibilty as yet.
I am hoping the transfer mkt to see good reinforcement for remaining season.

With Luke Shaw's injury records I think we really need a good cover as once you have a history of injuries you tend to have them coming back at you as your muscles and bones became brittle and won't withstand a whole season without going back to the treatment room again and again.
Then again we have Young and Williams deputising for him so left back is not a very urgent position to fill yet unlike the other positions which are really crying out for reinforcements.

If u keep thinking of buying players to fill this position, fill that position,
then in a way, u r preventing the younger players from stepping up.

U think Jadon Sancho could be the player he is now if he had stayed at City ?
Or even Kylian Mbappe if he hadn't got his breakthrough at Monaco ?

Either u give youth a chance or u buy ur way through to your trophies

Put it this way, at Man Utd, finishing second in the league, means we lose.
At other clubs, say Wolves, Aston Villa or even Everton, if they are in 7th place like we are now, the papers would be saying they did well.

Manage your expectations

If we want to get into 4th position, we need quality reinforcement

If we want to give the youth a chance, then we do not look at the final position of the team when season ends. Of course, we must not fall into the last 3!

If United needs changes, it is not the coach, but Woody must go, together with the owners. We have changed enough managers since 25 years of stability.

MR scored two goals to help the team beats Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.
Ole has proven to be Lampard's nemesis till date by ending the blue team's winning run

We must continue to build the momentum

The free kick was wonderful.

Again, like I said when James brings the ball into the box, it is better than for him to cross, as at the speed he is going, any contact by the defenders will usually result in a penalty.

Now back to the EPL

lenghan 31-10-2019 10:42 AM

If we continue to stay focused and not let our guards down, we can achieve better results. The 3 away wins within the week may be a great motivational factor, but hope the lads do not get too carried away.
All credit to MR for stepping up to take the penalty, and that free kick is really like a CR style. But towards the end, he seems to get a knock and lets hope it is not serious. But I thought OGS should get over the sarcasm about basketball. During the post match interview when questioned if MR was injured, again he said that this is football and players do get kicked unlike basketball
