using dish washing sponge to clean tank glass

Recently i use it on my tank to clean alage. Not long after the silicon of my tank leak. This is second time. Anyone experience this also?

:D honest, I am also using the toilet brush to clean my tanks.

For the corners & delicate areas, use the brushes for baby feeding bottles.

I suspect the hard and sharp green portion can cut the silicon open.

Me using 3M non-scratch sponge currently:

I also use this besides the 3M sponge:

Seems weird that your sponge would scratch and tear the silicon. This is worrying.

No problem so far using them. Been using for years. Cheap and easily available.

use the sponge side, dont use the scouring pad (green) side.
