5th National Flowerhorn Competition in Singapore
 

The 5th National Flowerhorn Competition organized by Flowerhorn Club Singapore will be held from 10 to 13 July 2014 at Block 697A between Hougang St 52 and St 61, with the support of the Hougang Village Merchants Association. .

This competition is open to all flowerhorn enthusiasts in Singapore and overseas.

The competition is based on an Open Category comprising 3 Classes (A, B & C) which mean that any types of flowerhorn (be it zhen zhu, malau, kamfa, golden-base, free-marking, classic or x-breeds like zzml, kfml, zzkf, etc ) can take part. The scoring system has been developed and fine-tuned to give every breed an equal chance to win.

3 highly qualified judges from Malaysia and Indonesia have been invited to judge this competition. These judges have in-depth knowledge on the development, keeping and grooming of flowerhorns and have been selected for their professionalism and impartiality in assessing the standards of flowerhorns.

As the person who is in charge of the whole event and in the name of fair play, I will not be entering any fishes in this competition; nor will I lend my fishes to others to enter.

Entry Fee
The entry fee for this competition is S$50 per fish for Flowerhorn Club members, sponsors and overseas participants; and S$80 for public and non Flowerhorn Club members. The entry fees have been raised for this competition due to the high cost of organising fish competitions in Singapore. Even with the increase, the Club is still subsidizing entries because funds raised from sponsors are insufficient to cover the total cost of organising the competition. Without subsidy, cost of each entry would have been in the region of $120 - $150.

Judging Manual

This is provided to make the competition TRANSPARENT and FAIR, and to let you know how your fish will be judged. It is also meant to educate new flowerhorn hobbyists on what are the desired traits to look for when choosing/buying new fishes.

After all the fishes have been judged, a score card will be posted on each tank to show how the fish has performed in the competition. From this score card, you will know the strengths and weaknesses of each fish vis-a-vis the
competition.

Some changes have been made in the scoring system to bring it up to date with the current flowerhorn market trend. Please read the rules and regulations carefully before you submit your application form. Once you entered the competition, it is deemed that you have read the rules & regulations and you agree to abide by them.

Application Form

For Flowerhorn Club Members, all you need to do is send me a PM stating which class and how many fish in each class you want to enter for this competition. Your application will only be confirmed after the entry fee(s) have been paid by bank transfer to my bank account (DBS Autosave Acct No: 033-001188-1).
