Theft at Pasir Ris farm

Hi all,
Sam GF's Pasir Ris farm have been broken into on the 27th Sept (Thursday 2145-2359hrs) & 16 of his most recent shipment goldfishes were stolen. 3 suspicious young guys riding bicycles have been recorded on their cctv. The incident has been reported to the police & investigation is on going. Attachments are the stolen fish’s photo. Please help to keep an eye as they might intent to off load the fish for cash to hobbyists or shops.

Thanks,
David Hou

Those pictures are photo taking of the fish...

wildaltum 30-09-2012 07:40 AM

Hope the Police are able to catch those thiefs soon.

FlowerHFanatic 30-09-2012 07:55 AM

hope they are caught soon..

wonder is we can compile these theft issues into a more prominent section of the forum so that more people are aware as there are already so many aro cases but that info seems to be categorised in aro section.

maybe mod would like to create a 'theft report' section in the main section so that all hobbyist are kept vigilant.. ;p

Ya, good ideas! ;)

wayne 30-09-2012 11:53 AM

i wonder if cctv captures their faces. i feel LFS owners can install cctvs at more concealed areas. like say places like, as long you can see the fish, and the fish can see you, the camera can see you too. dont know you guys get my idea or not.

nevertheless, whatever better ideas, prevention is better than cure! always anticipate.

wildaltum 30-09-2012 11:54 AM

I agree...if you guys know the shop at lot 35 Pasir Ris farmway Ah son's shop, his fish was stolen before ..(luohan to be exact) in broad daylight. The person used his hand to catch the luohan...1 month later, heard the thief tried to steal a stingray at the AF carnival.

The fellow was caught and ah soon got his luohan back 1 month later...bigger in size somemore...haha..

But wish can really have a section on thefts cases. Sometimes the cops also need our help or witnesses to catch these thieves.

Wilgan 30-09-2012 01:09 PM

No face how to help and catch? But damn asshole people to do such stuff leh.

Hugoboss 01-10-2012 02:47 AM

Wah!! The people who "kapo" also knows he got good goldfish, think they envy him and his fishes so much....check if he suspects anyone acting pitiful or pretentious recently lor. Haiz...unlucky to have such people keeping those beautiful goldfish. Hope Sam gets back his beauties man. :)

Euphonlst 01-10-2012 08:46 AM

IMO the chances of getting them will be quite slim if could not nab them within the golden 48hrs else the next step will be posting the cctv video at stomp with a catchy title this will draw attention towards those netizens and maybe report on the newspaper

betta_zoid87 01-10-2012 09:15 AM

Maybe he want to share the CCTV captures? So that we can identify the thieves and keep a lookout of them.

I know of hobbyists who keep their tanks along the corridor and yes... active CCTVs (open & concealed) to digital recorders.

Having security precautions is almost like wearing a condom... inconvenient at times but mostly safe... :D

Agreed with this wonderful suggestion by Bro FlowerHFanatic

Our community here can help to do our part by promoting social responsibility in fish keeping by not buying stolen property. Likewise fellow LFS will also do so. Though some would question the effectiveness of our actions, I am sure over time, our social responsibility action would have a deeper impact on the fish keeping community.

Hopefully Sam GF can recover his missing gf soon.

I think perhaps Mod can help to spread the message to fellow LFS to help Sam GF keep a look out of his stolen property. With no willing buyer, the thieves will have a harder time disposing their stolen property.

In Singapore, there is no way to run, just sooner or later only.

Some newspaper stall will still be selling in the morning so maybe u can try to get a copy. Anyway the article is describing how the fish being stolen.

TVR 05-10-2012 06:22 PM

Hello all,
Good and bad news!
All the 3 break in culprits and the mastermind(goldfish hobbyist) were arrested last night. They have admitted to the crime.

Unfortunate for Sam, non of the stolen fish is alive due to improper handling. Only consolation is recovering his Abu Garcia SX7700 fishing OH reel!
Thanks for all your comments and concern.

Regards,
David Hou

bettagold 05-10-2012 06:25 PM

Sad to hear that none of the fish is alive...:(

ranchulover_79 06-10-2012 12:09 AM

None alive? but who know if they have sold them away for cash.

Mod TVR had say,
"Unfortunate for Sam, non of the stolen fish is alive due to improper handling."
