Anyone using Alder Cones in Shrimp tanks?
I heard that the water will turn yellowish, is that true?
I bought a pack, and not willing to try now because I really love the crystal clear water look, but on the other hand really hope my shrimps would benefit from it. |
Basically tannins from the plant cells.
Like Ketapang leaves. Used fir cones years back for aro tank. |
Thankyou.
Decided to just add in anyway since I read it's beneficial towards them. |
Not really nevessary for aldercone. What do you expect after adding it?

Tannins leach into tank water, many real benefits, for one eg : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5P...w?usp=drivesdk Different countries and climates use different things eg oak/maple/ketapang leaves, fir cones : http://www.tfhmagazine.com/details/a...ll-article.htm |

A pack of 7 for only 3.50 so I bought. |
I just pick free Ketapang leaves.
Overseas will collect free fallen fir cones and walnuts. |
